About me

I am Dr. Wouter Peeters, sports nutrition coach and exercise physiologist.

Ever since high school, I've been fascinated by what happens in the body during exercise and how nutrition influences that performance. After completing my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Human Movement Sciences in Maastricht, I conducted PhD research in New Zealand on muscle adaptations to training combined with protein intake. I then worked for six years in the United Kingdom as a university lecturer and researcher in sports nutrition, energy metabolism, and exercise physiology.

My key points:

Evidence-based approach: all recommendations are based on current, peer-reviewed science. Results, not trends.

Tailored to your sport and goal: nutrition for training and competition is tailored to your schedule, body, and goal.

Data-driven coaching: weekly plans, measurement moments, and clear feedback so you know exactly what works.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about sports nutrition advice, coaching and lactate testing at home

Here I answer the most frequently asked questions from athletes and teams.

The plan is intake.
  • What is the difference between sports nutrition advice and a nutritional plan?

A standard plan ignores your training load and goals. My advice is to follow your schedule, intensity, and recovery needs, ensuring the timing, composition, and daily amounts are accurate.

  • How quickly will I notice results from sports nutrition guidance?

Many athletes notice improved recovery, more stable energy, and higher training quality within a few weeks. Competition-specific effects are visible once we fine-tune nutrition around training and events.

  • Is a lactate test at home just as reliable as in a test center?

The protocols and equipment are identical. The advantage is that you test in your familiar environment, and we immediately translate the results to your indoor and outdoor training sessions.

  • For which sports is guidance suitable?

From running and cycling to team sports, programs are suitable for recreational and semi-professional athletes with a specific goal or event.
